General Orientation

Included in the sessions is a general orientation to describe the program for the coming year. This evening introduction is done prior to the Weekend Workshop and is a wine, soft drink and finger-food event allowing class members to get acquainted for the first time. Spouses are encouraged to attend the orientation, which will provide them an opportunity for insight into the benefits of the program.

Weekend Workshop

This is the real cornerstone for the year's program. It promotes a bond with fellow classmates and defines the expectations of the participants and the Steering Committee. The workshop precedes the year's full day sessions and is felt to be so important to the program that an inability to attend forfeits admission to the class.

General Sessions

The intent of each of the sessions is to address the areas identified in the title. The format includes presentations by local experts familiar with issues, strengths and needs of our community. The sessions include time for the participants to analyze and discuss the topic(s) introduced; promoting a dynamic rather than passive approach to each session.

The Future of the Redding Region (Final Session)

This session is designed to stimulate the participants to brainstorm the future of our community. Local leaders will participate and be available for input on a variety of issues. The range of topics explored is only limited by the interest of the class members. The outcome of this session may in fact be incorporated in the planning phase for area projects.
