History & Culture
The Leadership
Redding History & Culture Session will begin with a continental
breakfast at 7:30 at the Old Shasta Historic Schoolhouse. We
will have a general overview of history of the Redding Region
and Shasta and then tour the Old Shasta Museum. For lunch we
will meet at Redding Rancheria Community Center. In the
afternoon session, we will learn about the various cultures in
the Redding Region. Dress is business casual; remember to wear
comfortable shoes because we will be touring the museum. Lunch
is plated and if you cannot make this session, please let Mary
know right away

Directions to the Old
Shasta Schoolhouse:
Travel 299 West to Old Shasta. Be aware of the speed limit
as it is heavily patrolled be California Highway Patrol.
In Old Shasta you will turn right on the first street
immediately following “J’s Market and the Post Office”.
The name of the street is French Alley. Then take the
first right off French Alley and you will see two buildings on
the left side. We will be in the second building.
Directions to the Rancheria:
Take Hwy 273S to Canyon Creek Road & turn right & an immediate
right turn again; follow the street to the Win River Casino;
adjacent to the Casino is a 2-story office building and at the
west end the parking lot to park in. Go to the back of the
building to and enter the Community Center.
