The Leadership Business & The Economy Session will be held in
its entirety at the new training center of the Shasta Builders
Exchange.
DIRECTIONS/PARKING: Take Hwy 44 to Old Oregon Trail/Airport
exit, go north to the light and turn west onto Old 44. The new
Training Center is on the right corner of Innsbruck Drive and
Old 44. ACCESS to the FRONT DOOR is around back in the training
center parking lot. Do NOT park in the parking lot attached to
the building on the left corner. Come early and join your
facilitators for a 7:30 am continental breakfast.
The day begins with an overview of local economic development
and labor market trends and the ongoing efforts to attract
businesses and bring jobs to the North State. You’ll hear
directly from Jocie Boyer, Northern CA Labor Market Consultant,
Jim Zauher, Economic Development Director, and Larry Morgon,
Redevelopment Manager, both from the City of Redding. You’ll
have an opportunity to interact with presenters on a myriad of
development issues facing the Redding area as well as gain
insight into projects currently in progress.
Following lunch, Kent Dagg, president of the Shasta Builders
Exchange will give us a tour of the new training facility and
focus discussion on training the workforce. The remainder of the
afternoon spotlights the local business climate and provides for
class interaction with a diverse panel of business owners each
of whom has a unique perspective to conducting business in
Shasta County.
This is a highly interactive and activity-based day, so come
prepared to put on your thinking cap for furthering our area’s
economic development and business climate.
