We believe that a vibrant, caring community is the result of an active, engaged citizenry, stated in our mission. I believe this region is a better place because of Leadership Redding. It has filled our community with an active, engaged citizenry - just look at the 500 alumni listed on our site.  It’s pretty impressive.

     Through education and encouragement to action, Leadership Redding provides individuals with an opportunity to develop as community leaders by connecting them to the people, places and experiences of the greater Redding region. This program will connect you with:

   People – you will meet some great classmates and inspirational community leaders

  Places -- you may venture to areas you were not aware of before

  Experiences – you will gain a better understanding of opportunities to contribute and to help improve the quality of life in the greater Redding region through community involvement. 

     As a program of the Shasta Regional Community Foundation, we enjoy the support of a valuable local institution.  Quality applications for the limited number of spaces in the class give us the pleasant challenge of having to create the right class mix from first-rate candidates.  The financial contributions from our sponsors keep tuition affordable and the organization financially solid.  Tuition hasn’t changed in more than 20 years.

     The members of the Steering Committee are some of the most passionate and committed volunteers I’ve ever worked with.  We spend the time putting together very busy, often very intense days that contribute to your overall experience.  I guarantee it’s an experience you will never forget.  And it is a launch pad to active involvement and engagement like no other Redding has to offer. I am a living testament.
